Grateful and Hopeful

Every Christian all over the world are now busy preparing for the coming Christmas day. Christmas preparation has been a long-time tradition of all Christians. Houses are now beautifully decorated with Christmas trees, colored lights, and ornaments. Others are now planning a trip to Bethlehem while some prefer to visit their local churches to attend the Christmas novena. Christmas songs are now being played on radios while caroling is being heard in public places. Parties and dinner are being held, scheduled to meet loved ones and old friends.   These are some of the happenings to have a merry “MERRY CHRISTMAS”.

Christmas is also the perfect time to be THANKFUL for all the received gifts. It is also the time to be HOPEFUL from all the challenges and failures in the year 2019. Let us be reminded of all of it starting from:

Life – Your life is the best ever blessing or gift you received. You may not know this but nearly two people die every second according to https://www.ecology.com/birth-death-rates/. So be GRATEFUL that you and your loved ones are still alive and kicking. To those who lost a loved one, be hopeful that strength will always be with you and the memory of his/her love will remain in your hearts.

Health – Your health is as important as your life. Blessed are those who are physically and mentally healthy. To those suffering from illnesses, be hopeful that the full health recovery and wellness be with you.

Family – Not everyone has given the chance to have a family. Whether it is nuclear, single parent, extended, childless, step, grandparent family and whatever family situation you are going through, there’s still a lot of reasons to be GRATEFUL because you have someone to share, love and care for. To those who have no family of their own, be hopeful that you can find a family to have and to hold.

Community group – to be involved in a community group is a joy in heart. It is your family’s source of social/spiritual nourishment, an extension of extra activities that nurture your time and talent. To those who don’t have a community life, be hopeful you can find one that fits your lifestyle.

Spirituality. Spirituality is about one’s soul and inner self. To be able to find a relationship with God and receiving the gifts of the Spirit is finding the way to eternal life. Be grateful for finding God and becoming part of His family. To those who haven’t find their inner self and God, be hopeful that God will make a way to find your way to Him.
